Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

My red coach kit started translucent, went regular red, and has now gone back to translucent for the last 6 months or so. I hope it stays this way forever. Very cool looking effect, and a much darker / deeper red in person. One of my favorite lamps right now. :)

Yeah, my experiences have been the same.  I usually get translucent during the first couple of runs, but it's never stayed, and never "come back".

It might be from the heat.  I have this against a basement concrete wall.  That wall is almost 10 degrees cooler than the interior wall, so I have to run that lamp hotter to achieve the same flow as other lamps.

That's very odd how your goo turned solid color and then back to translucent.

My goo kit attempts have always started translucent and then turned solid and never changed back.

I prefer the translucent appearance as well - the red reminds me of cherry flavored Jello gelatin.
