Thanks for the welcome Jerome. I have just started playing with Lava. I read on the goo site it's expensive, frustratingly hair pulling & cheaper to buy one. BUT I HAVE TO MAKE ONE or die trying. So here I am. I'm in my late 50's and own & run a small computer repair shop on my own, and no I am not a mega rich Bill Gates type. Just a battling small businessman. I live in NSW Australia on the central coast. Danny

hey, alpha centauri--thanks for the welcome! i've always thought these lamps were magical and was lucky enough to find two lamp globes at goodwill the other day (red/clear & lime green/clear) that just happened to fit the base i had at home. yeah! i have since tried to see if i could buy replacement globes in other colors but i haven't been able to find any. is it true that replacement globes are no longer being sold?

Hello ALPHA CENTAURI (Jerome),

Thanks for the warm welcome! I've recently re-discovered the beauty and tranquility of the Lava Lamp. What other site on the internet could I find such a wonderful resource such as Oozing Goo. Great website, and if other members are as welcoming as you - I can see that this will be a very friendly place!

I look forward meeting others who love the Lava

Jerome! Howdy, How've you been? Thanks for the note. I left for a while thinking I'd be too busy moving to New Mexico. Still bumbling around here in Washington...drat!! Twinkle, the English Bull Terrier and the '65 Volvo are still doing great! My Lava Lite collection is down to one Century and a newly aquired Mediterranean with funky lava. Will be fun to toy around with. Your Lava collection is awesome!! Mathmos has some of the best out there. I like your Goddess Rain Lamp table model. I have a HUGE swag model. They're so bad they're good!! Best wishes, Yuri

Yeah I hope I get my Lava Lamp fixed too! I am going to try and get a return on it today, but if not then ill keep it for abit and see if I can rehabilitate it.

The smorkin labbit isnt a name I named it, its the brand of toy [link] to more like him.

Hi J, Thank you for the tips. I've some great news. My lava lamp finally started working. Not many lava 'bubbles', I see just one for now. But that is enough for me, as long as it is working. Like you said, looks like a wattage issue. The package did say 40 Watt/230v bulb. I think I should get a new one.
