Are those Grande 's Carol? They are Awesome!

Don't I WISH Rick, lol!!!  No, they're plain ole 52's.  Those are those bashed up bases and horrible looking globes that I got burnt on on ebay not that long ago that I goo-kitted.  The green is a nice USA globe that fellow OG member gave me a deal on and I stole the base off of one of my other 52 LL's.

Thank you Rick!  I enjoy them!!

Hey! That green is looking very nice! :-)

How much wax and surf did you use? Did you use the green dye from Magma Tower? I will have to think about making one of these myself but I may order more wax... I am starting to think I have some dud wax. You are using a 65W bulb now?

Chuck,  225 grams of wax.  Dye is a blend.  I first take a tablespoon of wax and melt it.  Then I put a speck of green and a speck of yellow dye in that tablespoon of wax and adjust to the color I want.  Then I freeze it.  Then I drop the dye ice cube in the lamp when it is flowing to achieve better color control.  After that, I ended up adding a speck more of yellow and a speck more of green.  I tried to make them each the same size.  I did have a problem with the coil I think due to the fact I used brakleen to clean it by accident.  But I dropped the coil from the 32 oz globe in it and now it's flowin nicely!!!

Dyes are both from Magma Tower.  15 ml of surf.

oops forgot to answer about the bulb.  65 watt with a dimmer.  I normally have to dim down after a few hours to about half.

Thank you Jus!!!  I got so utterly disgusted buying lamps that were boring that I decided to just "DIY" it, lol!!!
