Getting Astro tops off

Can some one give me the best solution on getting a Glued Astro bottle cap off, without damaging the cap it self. i was going to get a jar wrench today, so see if that helps. I want to do a custom colour.


What i have tried.

a plumber adjustable wrench (just not wide enough by 2cm)
I have tried man strength with rubber gloves..
boiling water on cap with man strength..

I got mine off a brand new and previously un-opened astro bottle the other day using sheer brute strength! It wasn't as difficult as I thought and I didn't even have to heat the lamp up first.

May be the glue wasn't so much, i used my husband to do it, he is a sporting type. this glue is super hard. its from my 3n1 bottle. any way trying astrobabys method

i have used a tryed and tested way of opening lava lamp bottle's. I use this jar opener which has a rubber band that grips well. most supermarkets and some diy chain sell these. hope this helps thanks john

8 and half hours and the bugger wont shift! aghhhhhhhhh and my hand is sore and my hubby is sore..... Bahhhh

seen that type on ebay.even used the old marigolds on them!
