Making a 5 foot tall Lava Lamp?

Hi,

I am attempting to make a 5 foot long lava lamp which is 6 inches in diameter. I have a big glass tube for the purpose.

At the moment I am using 90% and 70% ethyl alcohol solutions and then adding mineral oil/liquid parrafin to this for the lava. Not having much luck though - anyone know a different formula for making a lava lamp.

Oooohhh.... a pet monkey would be cool! Bet he'd shake the lava lamps though.
Where did the tube come from? I've been looking for one this size forever!!

Don't be silly, the monkey wouldn't bother the lava lamps.... No, those jeans do not make you look fat, just fabulous!
And will there be any Smurfs involved in the creation of said Lava Lamp?
