Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Hi all, I recently got a lamp which I can only describe as weird, it looks like a normal cheapo lamp until on closer inspection there was an inner section which contained glitter.

The glitter section started first - obviously - then the lava started about a hour later giving a very odd effect.

Does anyone know anything about these lamps as i'd be very interested to find out more about them.

All I nknow is I saw them in online catalogs and one local store around 2006 or 7, and thought they were interesting.
A china lamp I think but an unusual combo.

Mathmos did a great job with their glitterball a few years back where the glitter and lava combined. Very pretty effect.
