Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Goo is not breaking apart.

I'm probably over looking a thousand blogs about this but what do I do if I have a huge bubble that won't break apart into little bubbles? I seem to be having that problem this weekend since I am fixing my vintage lamps. I've tried some soap and that will do it nicely but it doesn't last. Anyone know any other tricks?
