New lamp stopped working

I purchased a 14.5 inch lava-lite brand lamp a few weeks ago, and up until 2 days ago it has worked perfectly. Now whenever the lamp warms up, the goo sits at the bottom of the globe. It heats up and becomes molten, but it doesn't seem to want to rise. I've tried everything I could think of to get it to work again without success. If anyone has any ideas on how to get my baby up and running again I would greatly appreciate it.

Your coil is probably a dud as like 99.9% of them are.

1. Return it
2. Go on eBay and buy yourself an American Made Lava Lite, if your not sure what an American lamp looks like ask the seller to verify the bottle cap says "Lava Lite"
3. You'll be glad you did ;)

^--- same exact model/problem as mine... I was going to try this method...however my lamp has just started working again! :D So, let's hope all goes well and it comes back to life for good :D

Well... the lamp IS working...however the wax stays together in a singular blob...It seems to do this every time it's turned on now. Is there any fixing it, or am I sol? if so, then it teaches me to buy from wal-mart.

I have the same problem with a purple oil Red wax one it stays at the bottom my other Lava Lamp
has a smaller coil the one with the problem has a bigger coil wider and thicker coil.

I have the very same problem. 3 out of the last 7 that I bought have this problem. Using frosted bulbs makes no difference, also the coil seems to inplace at the bottom. I haven't tried using a dimmer this is next. This is all under the assumption that they are running to HOT.

I will let you know if reducing the heat works. If you come up with a solution please let me know.

Dont mean to thread jack but i recently purchased a 52 ounce red wax clear liquid lava lite from spencers and the liquid just stays in the bottom of the lamp after its molten. Any way i can correct the problem or am i just boned. If i cant fix where can i get me a decent lamp taht will actually work. Heres a pic of what my lamps up to. I got decent activity for about 2 weeks never ran it more than 8 hours at a go now it wont do anything any advice would be appreciated.
