Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Hey everyone.
Still having an issue with my Mathmos Jet.
After been on about 40 mins this is what it's showing.

Really dunno what to do.
It's a 30 Watt bulb in the lamp.
The lamp flowed perfectly in the shop but they made me take the lamp away freshly turned off.
I was SUPER carful and the lamp didn't get shaken at all!

Please advice!

What happened with swapping the bottles? Wasn't the yellow doing the same thing on the purple base that the purple bottle was doing?
After about 20 mins the yellow one went back to flowing fine so even swapping the bottles made no difference.
I also swapped the bulbs and it made no difference
It has a weird plastic white thing in the base.
Also added you :)
Nope sadly theres no flow at all now just the blobs at the bottom and yes it's plastic.
I think so, It looks like a spot bulb and yes deff 30 watt
Meh
The other Jet is flowing.
If I try it on the Nordic base it starts to cool down since it's only a 15W bulb
on the original base it just makes blobs but they dont break and just dome at bottom.

Might leave it for the night and try again tomorrow.
I had this same problem, I would say check the coil and that the wax is fully covered in the coil, mine had a bad coil and woundn't flow and looks the same as your pictures.
You mean coverd when switched on?
yes when the wax is a liquid, also the heat shield the white plastic coller should be sat on the three clips. also twisting the bottle gently sometimes helps the coil. otherwise don't know.
Ok so what type of bulb is the 40W?
Just so I know which to buy.

Thanks :)
Well I have a new bulb a R39 30 Watt and tried that.
It was doing same thing but has a tiny blob flow today.
2-3 blobs every hour ish.

I tried to find a 40 Watt R39 but they store said they don't make these.
What 40 watt can I get?
I also have a 25Watt golfball bulb to try too

Thanks
How do I get a 40W reflector bulb?
Someone above said they use one.

What are the signs the lamp is overheating?
