Consort Astro on e-Bay

I seen this, but had no idea what it was. Lava lite make it ?

This is about level, rarity-wise, with the Executive. The Astro Lava Lite, series 2500, dates to sometime in the mid- to late-70s, I believe a contemporary of the Capri, and I don't think the Astros were made for very long - at least I get that impression. I have a b/w, undated catalog illustration for one, with the colors listed (standard orange/yellow, red/clear, green/blue) which I got along with ads with identical fonts and layout for the lava Mystique and Continental, which are late-70s lamps. They've all got that beautiful piece of green leatherette on the bottom, gold cap and spiral, brushed silver base, and interesting and sturdy construction.

I traded mine off a few years ago to another nice collector, and I'm finding myself hoping more and more that, eventually, I'll find something else rare that I like less and can see if he'll trade back. But he really restored it beautifully, more than I ever tried to do - all I did was replace the contents.

Bohdan's is the only green/blue I've seen, all others have been red/clear, making orange/yellow currently its rarest color.

Got a copy of that Wishbook ad, Astro? I'd like to see what Sears offered in the 60s as far as Lava. Yes, the Executive came with two black-and-gold Eversharp brand ball point pens in the holders.

She sold for $170. A very fair price for such a rare little lamp. Congratulations to whoever ended up with this lamp.
