Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

My clear/yellow midnight has an odd flow issue. When first started it runs normal for about a hour then it stops flowing and sits at the bottom like its overheating. About a hour after that it starts to flow again but just shoots off one or two small blobs. The lava is in full contact with the coil. Is the coil shot or is there something else going on?

Toyu could try a smaller wattage bulb, a dimmer or a trick I love, put aluminum foil inside your cover cap.
I'll give it a try! It just started doing this about a week ago, it had one of the best flows. :(
Could be weather change or location of the lamp.
It has full contact all the time
I got it in another base now, well see what happens in a couple hours
It did the same thing as before in a different base. I changed the coil and its back to running like normal! Now, if I could get over this damn cold!
