Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I need help with the collosus bases. Has anyone had them sent back to Lava Lite for repairs? They told me that they would fix my base to use the R-40 because I can't find an R-30 in 200 watts anywhere. So I was wondering what the modifications consisted of. New parts?

More than likely they are just going to shorten the stem that holds the socket. Its probably a 5 minute job at best, im not sure I would send it out to them unless you feel unsafe doing it yourself. If you need help post up a picture or two, im sure either Bohdan or I can help you out.

Hello, yea I have to take the bases and box them up so Lava Lite can pick them up and "repair" them. I just didn't know what that word referred to. But I imagine the bracket gets replaced correctly not just bent down inside deeper because ya I can do that myself. So they'll ship Fed Ex for safety. Well just a note to everyone Lava Lite is accepting a sort of recall on the colossus bases to modify them for the R-40 bulbs. It seems like a bigger bulb will make more heat. Well Thanx for the input guys I will post some picks but probably not until Sun.
Well don't box up your colossus bases yet! They are out of parts . Now there's a long story cut short!- AAHHH the elusive 200watt incandescent bulb
Haha, more top notch service from LavaWorld.

Well here's the update. Lava Lite took good care of me by Fed Exing 2 NEW bases They seem very dedicated and AND they let me keep the original 2 bases! I will try to add a picture.
