Metal base Jet

Could somebody tell me how to remove the socket from a metal based jet?

it has me stumped, i dont even know where to begin.

the bottom does snap in.. but after that im lost haha. i posted another pic

thats what i did :) but sadly the original socket broke, so now i have to go out and buy a new unit for it. hopefully home depot sells them. i dont see why they wouldnt
