I've been having a horrible time locating a vintage glitter lamp....but I was wondering if anyone is selling a Fantasia lamp from the 70s. I've recently become interested. :)
Fantasia and Cuda fiber optic lamps are the only TRUE FO lamps. The fibers of these lamps are made of glass. Fantasia is king. Cuda comes in second. There are many Fantasia lamps that show up on eBay. The most commonly listed ones are Starburst and Centurion. Starburst is the largest spherical lamp made and the Centurion is a medium size. The smallest spherical lamp would be the Ecstasy lamp.
Largest - Sunburst
Medium - Centurion
Smallest - Ecstasy
They vary in price depending on condition and whether they have the box. Run of the mill Sunburst will go for $75-$150 depending on condition. If the market is hot and the item is in great/excellent condition, you can see them hit $250+
Many FO lamps on eBay are china made junk. 99% have cheap plastic fibers that are useless and don't even compare to their glass counterparts. As seen in the picture posted by Chris Lea - plastic fibers have a concentrated light near the base and in the middle. Very little light coming out of the ends. Horrible pieces of junk! Stay away.

Not a problem. Yeah, stay away from the plastic ones. Thanks about my Flickr. It's a hobby of mine and I love the lamps. Not selling any right now. No doubles. I had one a while back and sold it.
What about this thing? Any good?
It's German and the fibres are glass - which means they break easily.
Ours also look a bit yellow - age takes it's toll.
It's sitting in our spare room at present.
Anything's for sale at the right price!!
LOL
Had no real plans to sell it (hadn't really got round to it and the boss likes it and sort-of wants to keep it) but I guess we're open to ideas and offers.
Really heavy base - can't remember the details but I can soon find out if anyone's interested.
Got some more pix of it too if you want them.
