I am now the proud owner of a $116 French Glitter...that is busted

As soon as I could smell the package, I knew it was doomed.

Glitter is half clear (eaten away by the liquid) and half the fluid is now missing. The liquid was VERY toxic smelling (I took it outside immediately) and the inner package was SOAKED.

So, yay for me. I have another crappy lamp.

Unfortunately, I purchased this outside of eBay. Probably my mistake for doing that. I don't really think it's the seller's fault. Not sure really.

I *think* this was a result of the cap not being on tight enough. There is no broken glass. Sadly, I think this is the fault of the seller.

The glitter is mostly shot anyway.

I know how you feel .. had the same problem but fortunately went through ebay and paypal and was refunded 100% .. virtual hug :)

When I first got this same model glitter, half the fluid was gone due to evaporation over time (quite common with older glitters). What I did was I dumped the remaining fluid and started fresh. After cleaning out the bottle thoroughly, I poured in the glitter fluid from a Fantasia glitter I had, which is the fast moving, Perchloroethylene type I love. I have also refilled another French glitter I have with pink glitter fluid from a Wizard glitter, so I believe your lamp can be restored to its former glory as well. For me, part of the fun of getting a vintage lamp like this, is the challenges of the restoration process. Good luck.
