Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I know many of you have hotrocks and as many of you know many of them have problems with the lava sticking to the sides so I thought I would share how I fixed mine. I decided to experiment with one of my hotrocks to see if I could fix it. It turns out just adding 5 ml of goo kit surfactant fixes the problem. I did not notice a change in flow or anything, it runs great now.

Awesome..

I dumped all the cloudi water from mine and now that they're clear that wax is tuck to the sides. Does it have to be that surfactant or does more dish soap do the trick also?

TIA, Marcos
I dont know how dish soap would work with a hot rock lamp, but 1 drop of palmolive should keep it from sticking.. What did you fill the lamp with?
just water and a drop of blue food coloring.
That wont work. You need to add salt to the water until it starts flowing. Search for a how to on making a salt water lamp. I posted one a long time ago.
Thx for the tip.

I added salt and now (12 hours later) it's flowing like a champ and nothing sticking to the sides.. Working on my 2nd one now..
