Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Hi,

I just suceded yesterday in making my first lava lamp and it turned out pretty damned good, I turned it off last night and when I looked at it this morning it was frozen!

I used bee's wax and a mix of 91 & 70 percent isopropyl alcohol. The lamp was in my finished basement and it is cool down there during the night but not a freezing temperatures.

I am defrosting the lamp now and it seems to be acting normal as it defrosts. Can anyone tell me why this may have happened.

All help is appreciated :)

Very strange. I think alchohol has a lower freezing point than water so this makes it even more strange.
