Changing transparancy of goo

Dear all,

 

First of all, since this is my first post, thank you all for the knowledge on lavalamps! I just finished my first one, called Zingoo (as a token of my appreciation :) )

As you can see, it still needs a little tweaking with salt and dishwashing liquid. Although I already love it right now. But so much for the introduction :) Time for my question:

 

The goo that I'm using right now is the candle wax + PER combination. It works excellent, but I was wondering if it is possible to make it less transparant. I understand it is possible to change the color of the goo with candle dye. Does it become less transparant if I would make it much darker? Or does it require completely different goo?

 

Any experiences are welcome!
