Okay, I thought it best to start a whole new thread for this.
As you know, folks are having problems with cloudy LL's.
I have received a very cloudy Grande from Amazon a few weeks ago and was very worried
that another Grande, which I had ordered from LampsPlus.com would also be cloudy.
Well, I just got off the phone with Paula. They are sending me a new globe to replace the
cloudy one. Also, I received the one from LampsPlus today and its fine, nice and clear.
So, here is the story, it was a manufacturing error, NOT a shipping, weather, etc. but a problem
at their factory.
They have corrected the problem some weeks ago and have been shipping the new ones to
their venders, however, some vendors, such as Amazon, may still have the old stock.
If you want to buy a Grande, please buy it direct from LavaLite (or ask your vendor if they have
the new stock) to assure a nice clear Grande.
In other news, the rumors of new colors for the Grande are false.
Anyone who has a cloudy LL should call Paula ASAP to get a new replacement: 1-630-315-3300
I'm so happy now I could pee myself :)

I would send it back for a replacement or refund.
At least with a refund you could turn around and bid for an older native made vintage lamp.
I have other metallic lamps from other manufactures that look equally unappealing.
It's hard to find a silver metallic that will stay pristine over the long haul either.
Hey Rici, I thought you were hot on the MSR filter thing!!??
What happened??
Great, you will be very glad you did it, and I will be happy to walk you thru it.
All you need is a nice clean container to filter the water into.
A Grande, you will need a 2 gallon container.
You can buy a 2 gal plastic drinking water jug at the store. They sell them to fit in your fridge and have a little
tap at the bottom.
Those work fine.
Also, read my posts about cleaning the dye out of your filter.

It's coming. I have a couple globes that are ready for filtering, and the 52 is one of them.
LOL!! she NEVER has once returned a call or email. I had to keep calling every day until she finally picked up.
I got only one, of 2 defective (acording to her) Grande's returned as a replacement.
To date, the other one has not been replaced after leaving her several messages that the warranty would soon
expire, and I wanted a replacement before it does.
No luck, and the only LL's I buy from now on is with the intention of dumping and GooKitting them, or MSR
filtering them.
I just got a pink lava w/ purple water Grande from Fleabay (cheap!) fully intending to filter the water.
When I got it in the mail, I never even bothered to turn it on, I just poped the cap and filtered, burped, and
refiltered.
Now it's one of the coolest LL's in my collection. So pretty I put it in my bedroom.
Normally, I find the cheapest price, without regard to how they ship, so I can dump and GooKit them.
Just made a really nice bright orange one which is still in burping stage.
All I care is that the base lamp works and the metal fixture is in good shape. I dont care what the lava or
water looks likes anymore ;) I just shop for the lowest price.
Forget ever even trying to deal with LL customer non-service. Your pretty much on your own unless you get
lucky.

Not to butt in but I have dealt with lava world and all they do is lie then ignore you! I stopped dealing with that company and their poor customer service phoneys years ago! I find it ludicrous that this Paula woman is trying to appease you! LOL good one!
I would love to have a metalic lava lamp.
I talked to the GooKit guy, and he said they tryed to make one but it didnt turn out so good.
I think they are still trying to figure out how to make it.
Maybe some day they will figure it out and sell it. :)
