Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Back in 2004, I bought this lava lamp as a birthday present for a friend of mine. I bought it at spencers. I sort of regret giving it since I always wanted a lava lamp for myself, just never got around to getting one. iI opened it up and tried it on to see if it worked and also took a few pictures. Recently i been trying to find it online but I dont know who made it or what was the name of the lamp. I do searches for it as rocket lava lamp but i get other types of lamps instead. Does anyone out there know who made the lamp and where i might find one.

That's one unushial find - this is the first time I have seen this or one like it.

It looks like it is China made judging by the plastic and the globe design but who made it i have no idea - it might have been a small production run by a random company but that's only a guess.

I think you will need some serious time and luck to find anougher one.
Those come up for sale on eBay every now and again. I see them all the time.
They were called Molten Motion lamps and were sold exclusively in Spencer's from around 2003-2005 which was the period when they were not carrying Lava World Lamps. They came in a wide variety of colors and had silver and black bases. They did in fact also sell string lights. The line was eventually discontinued when Spencer's began selling the then newly re-released 52 oz Lava globes with the older decent China formula. They frequently pop up for sale on craigslist and ebay.
Well thats a surpirse for me - its clearly a USA thing sold in Spencers, I havent seen any in the UK so I thought there wernt many around.
I have one brand new in box if you are interested.
I also have the link'ed lamp, PM me if interested.
