New White Wine 52oz Designer

 I picked up one of the new LL Designer 52oz lamps after seeing them at Spencers. All the globes looked crystal clear but none of them were running when I seen them yesterday, today they had them running. They looked clear and were just starting to blob around. They also had the new colored 52oz designer bases but I did not think the finish was that great (rough) but thats just my opinion as is this review.

 

 Out of the tube the lamp was perfect, dark color and crystal clear. The white/wine lamp comes with a black base with a very nice finish. So far after 3 hours or so it is running stiff but fine, it needs more time to break in still. I will post some more pics tonight after it has been running 8-10 hours.

I am shocked, too. Looks like it has that boring "China" flow, but I have to admit, I'm stunned.

It has kept moving but is very slow flowing, I will update again when it has more hours run time on it. This video is 8 1/2 hours into the first run, so far I give it a 5 out of 10 since it at least keeps moving and doesnt overheat.

It looks like a clasic 'china' lamp with the slow flow and just blobing around

I am surprised that you got a ok LL china lamp though - luck has somthing to do with it.

I just posted in the opinion thread about spotting the 32 oz Designer lamps in Bed Bath and Beyond. Similar circumstances, crystal clear floor model out of the box but not switched on... Like I said on that post, the sure safe way to go about purchasing these newer lamps is to buy them in store only. They are shipped in large quantities and shrink wrapped together on wooden skids to prevent the bouncing and improper shipping you might find in individual private box shipments.

My bed bath and beyond didnt have any lava lamps. My spencers also didnt have any new lamps. Target had some new lamps though. They were all crystal clear. The purple is a lot lighter than whats on the packaging.

I also noticed the purple is lighter than on the package. I bought a 52oz yellow/purple yesterday at spencers and it almost looks pink when it's on. At least it's clear, I hope the flow improves though. They also had smurfs and ninja turtle lamps there.

I haven't been to Target in a bit, it's quite nice to see they have widened their in store selection of LAVA. I need to go in and get a closer look at the yellow designer to see if it's worth my while... I do have a spare US yellow globe if need be. I just think it'd look good next to my yellow Elec-trik. I expect though that the in store lamps ought to be okay... if anyone feels adventurous and purchases a new 12 oz Accent lamp, be sure to let us know how the improved smaller globes flow. I still think they should have discontinued the smaller lamps from 20 oz down all together, but at least we are getting a few better larger lamp options.
