Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I picked up one of the new LL Designer 52oz lamps after seeing them at Spencers. All the globes looked crystal clear but none of them were running when I seen them yesterday, today they had them running. They looked clear and were just starting to blob around. They also had the new colored 52oz designer bases but I did not think the finish was that great (rough) but thats just my opinion as is this review.

Out of the tube the lamp was perfect, dark color and crystal clear. The white/wine lamp comes with a black base with a very nice finish. So far after 3 hours or so it is running stiff but fine, it needs more time to break in still. I will post some more pics tonight after it has been running 8-10 hours.

The Purple/Yellow 52oz I bought at spencers about a week ago is performing quite satisfactorily after about 72 hours run time. Runs SO much better than 2 china lamps I got last year. Decent flow speed, crystal clear, never overheats. Vid coming soon. Lava is nice and shiny. As for target, I've searched mine and didnt find anything :( and Bed Bath and Beyond only had the aquarium lamps. I was almost tempted into buying one of those 8oz accent lamps at Big Lots for $9, but I've bought them before and had them be garbage.

No problem :) I'll take one soon.
Huh, interesting. Is the the motor of the lamp I hear spinning?
no this one is completely silent, the motor you hear is a small mystical glitter on the shelf below.
Does the base come apart? I am kind of curious how the lamp works.

nope all one piece even the cap is attached. You just plug it in and flip the switch and it goes. I think it's a magnet spinner and not like the propeller spinners.
Whats the verdict on it? Is it worth buying?
It's really not bad at all. I think maybe a nicer looking colored base would be cool, its just silver plastic. All in all 7.5 out of 10. Its was only $20. And they had a silver one. I am curious about the multi-led color ones.

My Spencers has a 52oz "designer" that I didn't see on the LL site. It's a pink lava/clear liquid with a light pink base and cap. Maybe a Spencer exclusive?

They have also come out with other fun new Spencer exclusive colors.

Yup thats is a exclusive, they have a few others as well.
