I've been told and have read that you can actually use a plug adapter/converter to run European lamps in the US. Is that a true statement? If that's the case, I might just invest in some single adapters and a power strip.

Thanks James. I'm glad I looked at the link you provided. I was under the impression that you could get away with just a powerstrip adapter, but that isn't the case. Now that the great news is out, that Mathmos is US based, I think I'll just wait.
I have opted to completely re-wire the two Mathmos lamps I have. Then I don't have to worry about power conversion, bulbs, etc. If you ever want/need to re-wire a Astrobaby or Jet, I can help. The others, I don't know how to do. :)
I will definitely keep you in mind, because there are a few jets that I have been looking at on Ebay. And since Jets are no longer being made, they are all UK wired.

I can show you how to convert the plastic Jets. There are some older ones that are metal (usually, they are black base/cap) and I don't know if the base comes off as easily. Not sure on those. Get a Jet - they are great!
You're welcome. :) Here's the thread, for future reference: http://oozinggoo.ning.com/forum/topics/how-i-finally-rewired-my
