No i purchased 2 lamps a few days ago I bought the cloudy one knowing i was going to sell it the seller gave me a good price on it but on the one i will be keeping he got me for 1800 and it has cap issues other than that its great. So i bought the xtra 1 to make up for some of the cost on the one i was keeping

The colossus is cool!!! And someday I want one... Or another.  But I'd rather get a 12in telescope or more pistols for that much money. I'm happy with my grandes as my big ones for now. I collect three things, Metallica stuff, lava lamps, guns. Mostly lava and Metallica. But hey congrats on getting a colossus!

Well the colossus has sold...BTW I thought there was some rule on this list about posting lava lamps currently for sale...has this changed?

I don't think there is a rule, just courtesy.  Some people don't want a lamp they are planning to bid on publicized.  I have posted about certain lamps on ebay and had people ask me not to do that, and I understand their point.  I check ebay for lamps almost daily so that I won't miss that must have lamp at a cheap buy-it-now.  I figure if someone is serious about finding that perfect lamp they will check regularly also

Where is everyone getting light bulbs for these?

Thanks Keith, I do want to be courteous to my fellow goo-ers.  I see the point, but not sure where to draw the line.  I wonder if the winner is on this list.

U know I see I point in not posting about eBay acutions. However this was buy it now and 1,500$ not everyone can just go out and spend that on a lamp.  That's why I posted about it

I think that you are going to have to find them on line and they will be made and shiped from china as they are not baned there.

Excellent question, I would like to know the answer to this as well.

They are "out of stock" on the LL website.

Good luck finding the damn bulbs

I use these damn bulbs for my colossus, and they work great!!  He gets flowing in about 8 hours, and then I turn down the power to about 2/3.

Keep an eye on it for sure yes. Been using that bulb for about a year now, and knock on wood, all is good so far. I kinda just bent the bars that hold the socket in my base so that the top of the bulb in about 1 1/2" away from the bottom of the globe.

..fit in a BR30 slot?
