What kind of bulb does a Decorator model use? Mine came with a 50 watt reflector, seems a bit strong. Should I change it out for a 40 watt appliance bulb?

what decorator is it, that I know of all were either supposed to use a 30W or 40W the 30's are impossible to find in the short stance so mine has a 40 in it.
Appliance bulb? I tried switching out a regular 40 watt appliance bulb and it didn't work at all in the base. Put the one it came with back in and it worked. The screw part is longer on the one shipped with it.
Oh, it's a '60's gold squiggle.
if it is a squiggle decorator it takes a mini-flood
In Martina's gallery on this site, it's the same as the one pictured.
it takes a 30 or 40 W mini flood
Ok, I will go to the lighting store tomorrow and get that. Will the 50 watt hurt it if I run it tonight?
it can burn up the lava faster but I am not sure how long it takes for that to happen
Before I go to the store tomorrow I am going to put my two problematic globes on it and let them overheat. I have a Coach Lite and an Aristocrat globe that do not flow so well. I may take advantage of this situation to overheat those a bit and see if that works.
I bought a 30 watt and a 45 watt mini flood today. Trying the 30 watt first. The guy at the store told me they don't make them in 40 watts. I hope the 30 works. With the 50 in it the lava melted WAY too fast and I could tell the lamp was overheating in short order.
