Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Hey everybody,

I recently made my first lamp using this formula here:

https://oozinggoo.ning.com/forum/topics/1566398:Topic:6021

I'm at the very end, my lamp is flowing and everything!  My only problem is that the lava is moving as a single mass, and not smaller blobs.  I added some glycerin to try and break up the globs, but it wasn't working as I'd hoped.  I wanted to avoid adding soap because I'd heard that it ruins the goo over time.  any advice here folks?  I've found mixed suggestions in the archives, so help would be appreciated!

Try dish soap or SLES or Miracle Bubbles. That should break up the wax.

I'm using an Absolut bottle.  1.75 L.  about 54 oz.  any advice on how much soap, SLES, or Miracle bubble to use?

Thank you for the reply by the way!

Just one drop at a time. Then see how it runs for the next 30 mins. One drop can do a lot. Honestly, Miracle Bubbles seem to work good, but when I redo lamps, I'm using the original wax with replaced liquid.

Good luck!

Thank you!

You're welcome. Let us know how it turns out.

Will do!  I'm going away for a week so I'll post results when I get home!

Hey Erin,

Got my lamp up and running!  Thank you so much for the help!

Awesome news! Looks great! :)

Thanks!
