Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

It's supposed to be purple liquid, and pink lava. They both look like two different shades of pink to me, but maybe that's normal. I do have a little bit of wax that always stays at the top. Is that normal?

Cool

You're lucky Justin :-)

and for the filter, just do a search on ebay with: "soldier filter" and you'll find a good working cheap filter.

I feel lucky! the new one is on its way.

thanks much for the filter recommendation, thats also on its way!

How did you go about getting a replacement? Back when i was selling them I either helped get a new globe out to my customers or simply refunded their money without having them return it. It would have been a waste of their money to return it because I would end up junking them. I examined the lamps when I received them from ll and when I found that it could not be sold I made a fishtank out of it for a beta. Lived for allmost 3 years.

Please read our reviews on the soldier filter in the discussion board before you decide.. my personal experience with the filter was a suck one. broke into the start of my 3rd filtration simply because of poor design and quality. So in my trying to save a buck back fired as i ended up buying an MRS filter which yes more costly but will last a very long time and overall easier to handle and work siphon handle..

Steven- I emailed LL and explained the situation to them.

They had asked me to forward my receipt, and get them the lot number. Which I gladly did.

No further questions asked and they sent me back a fed ex tracking number for my replacement. That easy! (which should be here today)

Kiramarie- I kinda wish I would have read the reviews on the filter. I just could not find an MSR non EX model. Which I read that specific model had a secondary carbon filter which would filter out other material that did not need to be removed.

Thank you for the heads up on the quality of them, but if it breaks im sure I could easily repair it or make a new filter out of its parts. Too late at this point. Ill make it work one way or another. Where did you buy the correct MSR filter?

got the new one, looks and works just like it should!

and i got my filter... damn that thing is micro! you really do have to put some work into it to get yourself a clear lamp! does work pretty well though. ill probably have to do my grande twice for optimal results. but it does the job.

Awesome! Which seller did u purchase the lamp from?

Not my intention to toss anyone under the bus...

But DirectGlow was the seller. I did leave them + feedback...it wasnt their fault (unless they knew about the issue prior to sale)

They did everything they were supposed to, and kept contact with me. They were also willing to fix the issue. LL just got back to me before they did.

OHHH, just want to see who your ebay competition is? haha jk

Lol. Thats funny. I'm happy to hear that LL are backing their sellers. And it seems that the warranty system has improved since I stopped selling their products 3 years ago. I will most likely make my purchases from direct glow since they provided good customer service when you ran into a problem. So if they decide to carry the lamps after they begin to manufacture the lamps here in the U.S. I will be clicking that 'buy it now' button. Thanks for posting this.
