Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Hi, I've got an astro 3 in 1 which i picked up at a car boot sale a few years ago. It worked fine but I haven't used it much in the past year or so. When I do use it a lot of tiny blobs of wax appear (the longer it is on for, the more tiny blobs there are!). Does anyone have any ideas on what this may be and if so, is there a way if fixing it? Thank you lava experts! X

Thats a typical sign of overheating .. You could try putting in a smaller wattage bulb or a dimmer and see if that helps
