I'm rewiring my 3-way torchiere lava floor lamp (because I found no replacements) and has gone broken without a switch for so long that I don't know how to wire it. from what I remember from Home Mechanics in high school, I believe I -at least- won't burn the house down. Could you guys double check this picture I made of the wiring please, just to be sure? I'm unsure as to how to attach the red wire to the switch. My instinct is telling me to connect the black and red with a grounding connector and connect that to the hot terminal, since it's the only way my continuity tester shows success: (off - lava on/top off - lava off/top on - both on - off) Also, the lava lamp bulb is 120v 30w, is there a specific place I could buy these? Thank you!

Post some photos of the switch, or a better diagram. I can probably help, but I am not sure from your diagram. Oh and 30 watt bulbs can be bought on ebay.
I'll post some pictures of the switch, but what details do you need for the diagram? Should I show the lava lamp socket so you can see those connections?
