Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Where do most of you find your rare lamps? Flea Markets, Estate Sales, do you trade/ buy from each other, or do you visit all the Ebay sites in all the different countries? I thought my collection was nice but after seeing some of the stuff you all have, I'm honestly mesmerized. I want to know your secret! That is, if anyone's willing to share :-D

Just scored another purple/yellow Grande from CL today for $25. It will be a few weeks before we can meet but the deal is done and I have a match for my other end table. Stoked!!!

I got a China blue/white 52oz locally for $5, and without bartering at all, the guy threw in a green/clear 32oz made in 2000. Five bucks for two lamps and the free green one is way more desirable than the blue/white! The blue/white needs a filtering. Just ordered an MSR Miniworks EX filter with a non-EX replacement filter on Amazon. I've got a few that could use a good filtering so now I'll have it.

Evidently I'm in the wrong part of the US. I use RSS feeds and I get no hits. Darn. Great finds though guys! Super jealous!

I have an app that alerts me to Craigslist searches and its usually reliable but I search manually too because it will miss on occasion. It didn't alert me to this one.

I use the iPhone Craigslist Pro+ app, and it fails to alert me sometimes, too.  I was thinking about hunting for a better app.

That's the same one I use. Glad to know it's not just me that it drops the ball on. It has served me very well at the same time though. If you come across a better one Kirk, please let me know.

Just set up a deal for 3 lamps for $30.  A 70's Century red/clear, a 90's blue/clear (or a white/blue, not sure), and a 52 oz china maybe yellow/purple.  :D

That's awesome, Keith!  Craigslist?

Wow! Today is the day! I'm a bit jealous, Keith. Not only just because but I'm looking for another 52 oz Yellow/Purple and you got one for $3 and change.

yup, Craigslist.  Funny thing is listings for lava lamp are quite sparse here so yeah. today IS the day.

Today was THE day. I picked up a 2005 black/orange from craigslist for $10. I then went to a Spencer's and found a really pretty pink/clear with a black and pink plaid base. I had not seen this before, has anyone else? I tried to buy a purple neon but they all had wax on the glass :( These are the only modern lamps in my collection. I haven't bought a new lamp since the china debacle. Crossing my fingers this pink/clear stays clear.

Outstanding!  I think I saw a picture of the pink plaid lamp on the site several weeks back.  Seems like Spencer's has only a few of these - my Spencer's hasn't received any.  Way to go on the black/orange!
