Hi - I'm selling the above lava lamp if anyone is interested and wants to make an offer.  Thank you.

Paula - if I can offer some advice.  Shoot lower on your expectations for your lamps.  This Splotch was initially listed with a starting bid of $750 and a BIN price of $1000.  You have lowered it now, but its likely still too high.  I also see you have the Aristocrat offered for $200 and a 32 ounce midnight for $100.  Personally, I don't see you selling any of your lamps at these prices.

Thanks Jim, I know.  I'm new to this and just wanted to get them listed and start somewhere.  Going forward I'm listing them all as buy-it-nows with best offer.   Do members of this site make purchases exclusively through ebay?

And welcome to Oozing Goo Paula.  Members pick up lamps anyway they can get em.  eBay is an obvious choice, but Craigslist, garage sales, flea markets, thrift stores, freecycle, etc. are all popular as well.  Most members are probably like me - neato, a new shop selling vacuums... I WONDER IF THEY HAVE ANY LAMPS TOO?!?

eBay will likely get you as close to a "market value" as you will find due to having essentially the entire United States as the market you can dangle your lamp in front of.  Other options are local in nature so lower selling prices are expected.  Selling on Oozing Goo like you are is also an option, but do not expect the same return as you would on eBay.  You will likely get a a more trustworthy buyer on here, but we are just the lunatic fringe of lava lamp enthusiasts - those who collect the damn things. There are plenty of lava nuts out there that will see your listing on eBay, but not here on Oozing Goo.  You will also save on eBay fees and the like, but sometimes an offer on eBay so blows away anything you will see offered from this site.

Thanks Jim for the friendly, funny reply.  Aha, good, so I'm not locked into ebay here ... thus none of their fees.  But I understand what you are saying about price expectations here, and elsewhere.  Thank you.

While I completely understand the lava-lamp collecting "lunatic" :) fetish, I am older now with limited space in my apt., 4 cats, and more interested in purging than collecting.  I have 9 lamps which I hope to sell and pay some of my bills with.   I'll probably keep one.  Nice to meet you!

Any wizard glitter lamps for sale?

No Denise, sorry.

You are realistically looking at less than $100 for the splotch lamp, not $300. Looking at some of your other auctions your prices are way out there. You have this lamp listed for $50 when I can go to wal-mart and pick up the exact same lamp for $15.

If they are that dear to you that it would take that much money for you to be okay with getting rid of them, you might be better off keeping the lamps and not deal with the hassle of trying to sell them.

Hi Autumn :)  Ok thanks.  I will adjust the prices accordingly as time goes on.  For now I just wanted to get them listed because I've been procrastinating, and would rather overprice than underprice to start with.  I'm using BIN with best offer so I figure that would compensate for any overpricing.  I did get quite a good offer on the splotch, way over $100 .. but I was foolish and hesitated.  Haven't heard back from that potential buyer.

Be well.

P.S.  Just wondering how are you all able to see my ebay auctions?  Is there a link somehow here to my specific auctions, maybe through my email address?

No, Paula, no links here to your auctions.   Most of us saw that Purple Splotch when you first listed it on ebay. Once anyone goes to your Purple Splotch, all they have to do on its listing is click "See other items."  That shows all items a seller has listed for sale at the time.  In this case, you are the seller and your other items are then listed for view by anyone who clicks that link on your page.

Ah I see, thanks MG.
