A dear friend who is no longer with us was a “ten pound pomey” by his parents, and never really fitted in .

He used to go walkabout in the outback and picked up pretty stones like candy.

His black Opal and Tigers eye were his pride and joy.

The only time I ever saw one !

I would love to go walk about, and your friend, may he RIP, probably enjoyed his life much more than those who shunned him.  He was doing what he loved.   I have several black opals and every one is different.  No wonder he loved them.  My brother loves Tigers eye, and I have always come home with my pockets full of pretty rocks I pick up.  I have a lovely rock collection, not valuable to anyone except myself.

We went walkabout into the outback and got lost, he kept on walking into the light and left me standing alone.
