Erin, you know that I kept saying, "I think Lava can pull out of this nosedive," but we were all skeptical. I was more skeptical than I showed; I believed they could, but was unsure whether they would. Hearing you say what you did about the flow gives me a lot of hope. That and The Blob's photos make me excited that I, too, bought one of these.

I hope that, with the vivid pink wax and the constellation-like pinhole pattern, plus the dimmer allowing fine-tuning, this lamp will be a showpiece. I can't wait to see your video!

I was VERY VERY skeptical. VERY. I'm still so disappointed their "heritage" line is made in China, but wow, this lamp is gorgeous. Amazingly so. I've got more pics and a video to post. The flow is incredible.

Here's a vid. Don't mind the birds in the background. :) http://oozinggoo.ning.com/video/heritage-grande-lava-lamp-from-lava...

Yes, the bottle quality is good. There's no seam. No smears. A few pinholes of light, but that happens on all glass. I think these are definitely improved.

I notice that when I go to place my order for my 2nd round of lamps, that Google warns me the site isn't secure and there's no "httpS". Anyone else seen this? Should I be concerned?

I'd say it impresses me that a bottle of this quality was made in China. I suppose the reason most China bottles, even knock-offs, suck is because it's more profitable to cut corners on the batch process. Having sent someone to monitor said process, I doubt anything that flows even half this well has ever come out of China.

If these are this good, imagine what they can do back in the USA!!

I haven't noticed, but would be leery about providing personal info on a non-secure site.

Fair enough. I saw another user here with the same problem. I'll call today to place my order instead. It looks like their site's certificate doesn't match.

You get an error at lavaworld.com because the certificate was issued to lavalamp.com.  Still, if you go to the cart on lavalamp.com, it's still not encrypting the data. :/

Wow! that looks amazing and the flow is great!! Did you let or run overnight on full blast or dimmed? Looks beautiful on a black base.

I agree, Rodrigo, that black base really sets these off!   Just beautiful!

I did let it run overnight. Full blast.
