Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

What is this lamp and year ?

No date codes anywhere, cap doesn't come off.

I could try to 'unscrew' with force ????

That's a 52oz. globe on a base meant for a 32oz. globe. Top is a Century or Aristocrat glove, bottom base in an enchantress.

Todd, don't unscrew with force, you might crack or break that cap.  Turn a hairdryer on the cap and use a rubber jar opening pad to "gently" try to open it if you want to top it off with liquid.  Some screw caps have the dates in the top of the cap.  Have you looked up in there to see if it does?

It would look nice if you can find a 32 oz. Enchantress globe to go on that base, since it looks to be in good shape from the pic.  Did you buy it with that "combo?"   ;-)

I saw that for sale on eBay, I figured someone on here got it. But that is definitely a 52oz gbloe on a 32oz base. The cap screws off but they're brittle so be very gentle if you try to open it.

Interesting crossbreed, that one, but I see these occasionally. I suspect the globe broke, and when the user was asked when contacting Lava what model they have, they said "a big one." Liquid level is low, too. That globe and base don't look bad together.

It came this way, I thought the base was too small.  Yes it's low on fluid, some

leaked out during shipping.  It's too bad UPS/FedEx doesn't pay attention to;

This end up, Top, Arrows pointing Up....

If I were top it off, would distilled water be OK ?

You can too it off with distilled water but it you may need to also add glycerin or Epsom salts with the distilled water because the liquid in the lamp is much denser than distilled water. By adding straight water you will make the overall density of he liquid less and upset the flow. Essentially you may have really slow or no flow at all after adding water, especially that much. So you may need to balance it out by adding salt or glycerin with the distilled water.
