Today I received my Heritage Limited Edition Collection Wizard.
It has a red base/top & clear liquid with red wax.
It's still warming up, slower than my other 32oz globes, but I
must be patient...
Very well packed, double boxed, and sent quickly via FedEx ground.
I have no complaint's. Sturdy base construction and a nice power cord
with a built in dimmer ! Factory packaging is good and protective.
My only complaint.... the cap had multiple scratches/gouges. This was
done before packaging, no damage the the bag it was in. I sent an email.
Now I'm just waiting for it to warm up , very slow...
I think its the coil rusting...it really doesn't look like burnt wax but I suppose it could be. Its a shame b/c the flow is absolutely gorgeous in these lamps. But they should last a lot longer than 3 months :(
My New Wizard ran last night for 6 hours, just got one long
pillar to the top. I went to bed and shut it off. When I came
home today from work, the pillar was still there, frozen in time.
It didn't even drop...
Now it's on a second run, 6 hours so far, still not much activity.
I have yet to receive a response from Lava Lite regarding
the damaged/scratched cap. Some Customer Service ?
I'll be patient and let the lamp run through several cycles, but
why haven't they responded to their QC issues of the cap or offered
some type of resolution ?
Is this a reflection of quality and customer service ?
I'd like to buy a Colossus this October, but now I'm not sure.
i usually have to email them a couple of times before i receive a reply. as a matter of fact, I need to email them again regarding my neon grande that won't flow.
Good luck , they are very slow with responses
My new red/clear Wizard is on it's third eight hour run, actually it's been closer to
9 hours on this run. Still very little activity. Ambient room temp is 70...
My 20 or so mid 90's lamps have been flowing for hours... I'm disappointed.
The flow isn't great. I have a 90's base at work and I rotate globes on it depending on my mood. I can get the new globe from the wizard to flow nicely, but I'm also sitting there there fiddling with the dimmer constantly. I think it helped when I first got it that I let it run continuously for a couple weekends. It never over heated, so I just let it run for 72+ hrs.
The wizard globe still takes 2-3hrs to get flowing at work, my old USA globes start within 45 minutes, and usually send of wax in the first 10. Something definitely changed in the formula.

I don't get any flow... Maybe a few blobs, but they get frozen. I even wraped
the globe and base to increase heat. The wax seams very 'hard' and has
never reached a full cycle to reflow the wax. Perhaps I'll just leave it on for
a few days and see what happens.
