Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I got my 10th lava lamp today and it may have a bad coil, the jury is still out but it got me wondering what the average percentage of bad coils are. I am qualifying a bad coil as one that has enough issue that you had to open the bottle up and either degrease it or replace it. Currently I have 10 lamps and one has had to be tampered with, but I have two that may need it. I'm at 10% but probably going to be 20%

How many lamps do you have and what is your bad coil hit rate?

(only count lamps with coils IE, not glitter wizards or others that have no coil issues by default.)

I haven't had to replace any coils, about half or more of my lamps are Mathmos and others are LL china and other un branded lamps
Is most of your lamps LL china ones

all of mine are LL USA lamps so far though it looks like the two that were acting up a little are now behaving, so its just the one that acted up before, and that was new in its box, maybe it has to do with it never being used.

Probably if it was a 90's USA lamp then yea it would take a while to sort its self out but after a fue cycles it should be looking fine.
