Glitter Wizards

So I just bought a purple USA glitter globe I found at Goodwill. I was super excited about it, as the purple glitter wizards are my absolute favorite. Anyways... The glitter in it sinks to the bottom. Is this normal?? It's the first vintage lava lite glitter globe I have that doesn't seem to be ruined in some way or another. I thought the glitter in these floats to the top? It's flowing just fine, like a glitter wizard should flow, I just thought it was odd that the glitter sinks.

The glitter sinks to the bottom when it's cool, not hot. When it's hot it's fine and flows nice.

Looks like we both scored purple Wizards! Is yours a multicolor or a silver? This is my first USA glitter as well, I will let you know what mine does when I turn it off and it cools.

Oh cool! Lol it's a silver. All I really want to know if it's in good shape or not haha. I have a red USA glitter globe as well but some of the liquid is missing, half of the glitter rises when cool, and then half settles to the bottom. The red glitter also stops flowing after a couple hours. I do have a purple glitter from Kirk, in which all the glitter rises to the top when cool.

I mean I guess all that matters is that it flows properly, right??

From all the ones that I've seen and from the one that I "used" to have, the glitter does sink to the bottom when the lamp is not flowing or hot.

Nice, purple power Ian! So, after a night cool down I have noticed that the bulk of my glitter is up top while a lot of it is stuck to the glass walls themselves. I snagged mine as a NIB so maybe over time the glitter starts to act differently with use. I have a China glitter blue as well and its glitter seems to float to the top for the most part.

Update: the glitter stops flowing and sinks to the bottom after a couple hours of being on :( I really want to know what causes this! Sigh. Oh well.. I guess it's fairly ruined, also all of the glitter sinks to the very bottom when turned off and cool.

the glitter in my purple USA globe sinks to the bottom when the bulb is off, but the glitter in my blue USA globe floats all over.  to address your issue, maybe try a dimmer?  that's my best guess as i'm not very well aware of how to fix glitter globe problems.
