Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

*edit

Any lamp is fair game now, not just the beatles and harley lamps. This thread has grown far beyond my expectations! 0.0

I really dont understand why these are always listed for ridiculous amounts. I see them all the time for $100 buy it now. I have a harley lamp and I want to sell it because I dont like it. Someone locally tried to sell me a beatles lamp for $100. Are these people nuts? Why do they all seem to list them for stupidly high prices?

Anyways I thought it would be fun to see who can find the most over priced harley davidson or beatles submarine lamp.

I am setting the bar really high.

When did these become so expensive?

I got mine MIB on Ebay just 4 months ago for only $300.00!

Well this one even started out with a 499$ BIN price. The seller must be ecstatic. Actually this one may well be worth the premium too. If I did not already have a Cosmos I would have been in on this one. Actually I would have done the BIN price I could have, I looked it over good before any bids were placed.

But it does not really belong in this thread because the starting bid was reasonable amount and the final sale price was determined by real perceived value and legitimate bidding activity.

LOL!!! Hi Rich. That is a funny one. :)

Ok....it is not a lamp, but it is just so funny. This was in my watch list...it was probably a buck or 2 and I am just a big kid who likes toys. Then...a week or so ago...I noticed this price change. I have kept it in my watchlist just to see how long it will stay like this.

I mean, $115.99...that is fair for a plastic musical top...right? Well, it does have flashing lights too...I like flashing lights.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-1950s-1960s-RED-LAVA-LAMP-GLASS-/31...How about all these Century lava lamps being sold on ebay by clueless people for 2, 3 and yes...even $400! What planet are these people from?? One seller has been listing a Century for months at around $279.99 and now he's running a sale on it for a purse splitting $235!! OMG, I'm gonna click my butt right over there and scoop it up....NOT!!!  Are these people really so stupid, ignorant, and/or greedy that they don't realize that these Century lamps routinely sell for below $100, usually in the $40-$70 range?! Some of those high-dollar-jobs even have dents and bad lava in them! Get an idea people.

Grant,

I have seen that lamp before on two different occasions and just love it. To me it is worth every penny they are asking. If only they would ship to the USA......oh and I could get the wife to say "Yes" to one more large lamp. I don't know who made that model though.....but I sure do want it.

Wing and a prayer Pete!  That isn't even a glitterball is it? Looks like the wax is plain Jane yellow.
