I have two (2) very old lava lamps that are very old but they work great, with the exception of the cracked plastic screw on lids. They became brittle with age and the gold colored plastic lids have cracked. There are O-Rings inside them to seal them. The O-Rings are perfect, but I just need to replace the threaded on type lid. One light says Model 1120, June, 1976 on the bottom. Another sticker inside says Underwriters Laboratories, Issue #C7358, and E-40250 on it. The lid is wider at the bottom neck of it and slightly less diameter at the top crown of it. 2 3/8" diameter at the widest part, and just shy of 2" at the very top (narrowest part). The other one is identical but without stickers.
Can someone help me with replacement lids or tell me what kind of generic lid or lid from something else that can be used to solve my problem?
I can send anyone my phone number or will call you if you can help me.
Photos are attached.
Thanks, Mike Reisman

Craigslist - just got them when I could, so I don't have a source. I think there is a lavalamp website too.
Hello All, I have a 1979 Aristocrat with a cracked original lid. I found that, 5th Season brand spices use the exact same thread on their spice bottles. It seems they use different colors for different sizes on their bottles , the Black color is the exact size for a vintage lava lite. Because of the different type of sealing technique of this lid, I had to trim down a larger sealing disc from a larger pill bottle to make it air tight. (you need some type of gasket with this type lid) I hope this helps someone save some time. Also these spices are fairly cheap as well , I used the lid off of a Ground Cinnamon bottle. 5th season , dist. by/Por Han-Dee Pak, Inc.Cockeysville , MD 21030-0448
Thanks for going to the trouble to let me know this. Mike
You are welcome ,I know you needed the info over Three years ago but I figured anyone searching, like I was will find this thread.
I had found bottle lids that fit but wouldn't seal when the lamp was hot. Has this been a long term fix, so that there is no fluid seeping out when the lamp is running?

Yes, it is holding the seal. The original lid had a tapered downward seal that contacted the inner edge of the jar mouth to seal. I cut down a disc from a pill bottle that seems to be like a neoprene type material. I'm sure you could use rubber to cut a gasket from as well. if your jar is extremely imperfect around the top edge, you could use a small amount of silicone sealant with a gasket.
