A bit pricey, but I think the factory painter went nuts. Maybe he was one of the guys producing the really lightly-squiggled ones we sometimes see; the boss goes, "You need to use a heavier hand," and he thinks, "I'll show him!!"

Hope an OGer picks this up. If you've got an Aristo or Century globe with either a screw-on or cover-type black cap, you could probably paint a cap to match!

I asked about this one, but he won't go for less than $50. It's been listed for several months. I've been tempted...

I was tempted to get it, but I already have 3 black squiggles now. (2 bases, and 1 complete with cap)

I have one base, and am tempted to take one of my screw-cap black Aristocrat bottles and paint the cap with squiggles to match.

What are your plans for your other two bases, Wizard?

I was planning to do the same. Take a black cap and drizzle on the gold squiggle lines.
I wanted to try a squiggle paint effect on my China base from Spencer's. How were you planning on doing it Ooze?
I'd have to think about the best technique to get a convincing squiggle effect to match the base.

I thought about drizzling it on, but I have yet to practice the technique on anything.

Has anyone followed up on this?  I've been thinking of making a black squiggle or two.

I haven't had time or funds, nope. If anybody wants to try on another base, I have a spare brass Aristocrat base.

I have some of the newer aluminium bases and can spray paint the main color, but I wouldn't know what to use for the gold to get the lines.  Also unsure of what technique to use.

Could you make some sort of stencil?  Or buy a squiggly line stencil maybe at an arts and crafts store that has stencils?  That's a tough call on how to get that "look".  I even tried to google it, but so far didn't find anything that would make me think it would work.  I'm sure someone somewhere will come up with something.......that's a tough one though.
