What filter to buy and where to buy it

I have tried searching and find a lot of conflicting information.  I have a couple of lamps that work great but are cloudy.  My one attempt at replacing the fluid was not successful.  I'd like to try filtering to see what I can accomplish.  In the Library I see a reference to the MSR Miniworks filter but it says to avoid the EX model.  For the most part, the EX model seems to be the only one out there.

So, bottom line, what brand and model of ceramic filter have folks used with success and where can I buy one?

i haven't done this before but read up on the process in case i wanted to filter a lamp in the future.  filters with ceramic filters (no carbon) are needed.  apparently filters with carbon remove something in the fluid, which changes the density and renders the lamp motionless.

I use this one MSR MiniWorks Ceramic Filter http://www.amazon.com/MSR-Miniworks-EX-Microfilter/dp/B002IAOOMA but you can probably find one cheaper on ebay.  I've also heard of people using Brita filters too but I just never wanted to try that, I'm not sure if the carbon has a effect on the liquid or not.

That one says it has a carbon/ceramic filter.  Can the carbon portion be removed for Lava fluid filtering purposes?  I've read not to use a carbon filter.  

I tried the Britta filter on a particularly cloudy China lamp and it made no difference whatsoever.  The fluid came out as cloudy as before.

Oh sorry, the one I have its a older unit I guess mine only came with a ceramic filter.

Yeah, it seems they don't make that one anymore.  At least it is hard to find if it is still available.

I am getting an increasing number of globes that could benefit from filtering.  Asking again if anyone knows where I can buy a filter that will do the trick.  All the ones I see for sale include a carbon core which I've read will damage lava fluid so I need  filter that is just a ceramic filter.

I looked at the MSR EX filter cartridge and it is identical to the old version of the MSR filter I have. There is no carbon on/in it, I think they just use that terminology for sale purposes. The only difference I can tell from the old version to the EX is they use a different type of valve in the pump mechanism.

The video on this page states the filter has a carbon core but they don't provide any illustration on how the filter is constructed.
