help to get working and identify

• Hi all. I am hoping i might be able to get some help here. I have a lava lamp that I think might be fairly old and i am trying to identify and get working.  The lamp for the glass is about 18 in tall and the base is about 11 in tall. I got them separately and they fit together but i am unsure if they will work together.  the current bulb isa15 wat bulb i had laying around.( it is not doing anything)  i dont want to use too big a bulb and crack the glass.  I am also interested in identifying the lamp.  any help would be welcome. That's a blue/white giant globe but I'm not sure what the base is. The giant requires a 100w R20 bulb to get things flowing. Welcome to OG, Chuck!

Is it possible the bulb will break the glass since the base maynot be the correct one?

Great globe (blue/white Giant as Brad indicated), but a lousy base. Well, lousy for that particular globe, but may make a nice base for a custom (with a smaller globe).

Here is what your lamp should look like with the proper base.

I question if the base can even support that globe Chuck. I personally wouldn't risk it.

You can always try reaching out to Lava Lite to if they can assist and sell just the base/cap, but its doubtful that they can. They still sell this size lamp, but changed the name to Grande (Giant is the US made version of the grande).  http://lavalamp.com/grande-lava-lamp

Yep, nice globe, wouldn't trust it on that filmsy base.....gonna be quite tipsy, lol!!!
