Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Going to try filtering a Grande I ordered from Target. It came extremely cloudy. (See pic)
I have read until my eyes are bleeding on the process, but never saw mention of flushing the globe out after dumping the fluid. Is it necessary and safe to do so to achieve a clear lamp?

Read in the "Library" not to dump the white powder, but it seems like you would need to get that stuff out of there.

Thanks for any info!

Not bad at all !

I use copy and paste normally, sometimes it doesn't work.  Then I will use the image loader by clicking the image icon above the reply box (second icon from the left)

This is copy and paste

Don't think it works the same with a iPad, at least not that I found. Screen shot shows no icons in reply box.

So far, so good.  Can even see the warning label on the base.

How did you recap it???
Just put the rubber plug back in and metal retaining cap back on.
But I'm looking for a better alternative. Was considering a test plug, but it won't let the cap sit normally. Thinking if I got a flat nut and cut the bolt down. Still, not perfect.

I used an epoxy to reseal the cap back onto the globe

Worked great for glitter, which is under more pressure than Lava  when heated

Do you happen to know the inside diameter of the Grande opening?
