Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I attempted to replace the plug underneath the bottle cap and when I went to remove it the plug accidentally fell into the lamp itself. Does anyone know of a way to get this out easily?

bent coat hanger to fish it to the top and some needle nose pliers to pull it out.

Any alternative to a wire coat hanger? I don't have any.

you can use your imagination here.  i don't know what else to use.  alternatively you can empty the fluid into another vessel and pull the plug out with pliers.

I've replaced the plug but now I've got another problem. The globe itself started to become somewhat "cloudy" and has what looks like bubbles in it near the bottom and moisture near the top.

Any idea how to fix this? Is the plug sealing it properly?

The plug is probably sealing properly

What was the lamp like before the plug fell in as whats on the picture is more of a issue of lost fluid and that the globe needs a clean and generally a revamp.

The lamp was fine before and it was fine for a little bit after I put the new plug on. After two days or so with the new plug in it started to look like this.
