Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Hi guys!  I'm new here so take it easy on me please. :)

I've been collecting lava lamps for over a decade.  I decided to add a cheap glitter lamp to my collection.  Upon setting up, before turning on, all of the glitter was settled to the top.  3 hours of heating did little to change that.  A gentle shake distributes the glitter evenly, but it settles again to the top.  Do I need to pick up a different one or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks!

aside from making sure you have the correct bulb and perhaps trying a new bulb to rule that out as the issue, there isn't much else you can do.  i'd return it for another one if you can.

welcome to OG!

Hmmm I see I'm late for this post. That's a new one for to me, I mean I've heard of strange things happening to lava lamp like this, but not glitter lamps. Do you have a photo of it to show what it's doing? This is if you still have the lamp.

Sounds like the liquid's specific gravity is too dense. Just return it
