Does anyone know where I could find a Glitterball Mathmos Lamp that is good condition? I live in the U.S. so it's challenging to find anything Mathmos here let alone something that's out of production. Was this Lava Lamp trouble free or did it have problems. I really like the looks of the glitter in the lava..
I'm a Newbie on this site, so if I'm not posting correctly please forgive me. Thank You..

You might try ebay U.K.
And you're posting just right.
Yes, I've looked on ebay England but currently no luck. I couldn't believe how cool the lava looked with glitter in the mix. I think Mathmos said they could never consider doing the GLITTERBALL again because of the costs. Just too expensive to produce.
I found a supplier of Mathmos that will ship to the United States,so I've ordered an Astro. I just was tired of getting burned buying American lava lamps. They really should move the production BACK TO CHICAGO... We could use the jobs and the quality upgrade as well. Thanks for your reply!!
ps if you ever see a GLITTERBALL for sale please let me know.. Matty
If I find one I can afford I'll post pics of it in my display! lol
Otherwise, I'll try to remember to let you know

Glitterball Astro baby lamps are fairly rare now since they stopped making them sometime ago but they still appear on Ebay-UK now and then so have some patience and keep looking there.
If you can find 7 vintage Mathmos Glitterball Astro baby bottles ( good luck ) then you can make a Glitterball Lunar bottle!
Glitterball lava flows differently than normal lava.
It starts flowing quicker but the flow is much slower moving.
Over time and extended use the Glitterball lava will create many small lava blobs that look like glitter particles in the liquid like this -
Wow Wow Wow!!! Thanks so much for these very cool photos of the lava Glitterballs.. I'm so jealous . I think Mathmos really got it right when they came out with these. I'm surprised no other company copied the Glitterball formula, but as I mentioned prior it probably was too expensive to reproduce. Thank you for the suggestion as well about making an astro baby Glitterball. I'll be on the look out.
But remember if you all see a GLITTERBALL for sale.. "a friend in need is a friend in deed" LOL Thank you again.. Matty
