So i finally got my glitter grande with the gold base. I opted gold because ive seen silver and sorta seen black when someone put it on a giant base. Eh, never seen gold so i gave it a try. I like it alot.. The gold deff goes with the bling of this lamp.
The lamp/globe do have flaws though, The glitter is sticking the inside of the glass in one section shaking it and getting the water to splash against it wont dislodge them. So maybe heat will from running, the paint job is good i couldnt find any MAJOR flaws except a quarter sized blotch on the mid section. Its like the paint blobbed in that spot thankfully you dont see it unless you take a second. And you can just turn the globe around. The rest of it looks nice and its VERY VERY clear.. my experience with some 32oz painted lamps is they are always foggy looking by the paint not the liquid. Glitter flows instantly.
The other note of the paint while clear it has alot of orange peal. Orange peal is due to overspraying and spraying too close. Cars often have this with cheap paint jobs. Only way to fix that is to wet sand them but i wont be wet sanding this lamp. You dont see the orange peal unless you shine a flash light on it
Also the gold base had 1 little ding on it but it was towards the back where the cord is so thats fine. The damn lightbulb of course was shattered but whatever. The bulbs they all supply with these lamps are too long anyway you have to shorten the stems. So i just took my ebay bulb which is 1/2 shorter and put it in there for now until i order another one. Over all im happy with the lamp, I guess if i were to rate it 1 outa 10 i would give it an 7.
Here are some pics and here is a video,
Sorry for the messy desk.. lol

Congratulations - Sounds like you really like the new lamp. I purchased two of these and you can see from my photos posted what I ended up doing with them. I removed the paint job and now have two clear liquid/silver glitter lamp/gold base. I left the purple on the very bottom which gives the glitter a royal look of multi colors. I also use dimmers on mine. Original colors just did not do it for me and one of the globes had drip marks within the paint job that looked liked water dripped down before they sprayed over the globe never wiping clean before spray paint was applied. It bugged me when I was up close to see water drip marks - another reason I removed coating. It appears your globe has a minor flaw. Is it noticeable when the lamps on? When the lamps were running it was hard to see any flaws so I kept both and glad I did. I think you're gonna love your new Grande Glitter lamp. Simply Awesome. LavaLite glitter lamps rock. I have no idea what type of fluid and glitter they use but it works and it works well - forever so far. I wish they would kick out other SOLID colors of Grande glitters.
What flaw ? you mean th3 one in my last picture M Yea thats the quarter sized screw up in the paint i mentioned.. It looks like the paint blobbee there and this it looks like crap in that spot.. when its on i can see it its like a dark spot.. But simply yurning the lamp around and walla its gone lol cant see it through the otherside..
Also they didnt fill it up enough.. its been on 4 hours now and its still below the cap.
Would it hurt if i opened the cap and put just a tiny bit of water in it ?
Nice enjoy! That overspray blob would really bother me and I would make them replace the bottle at their costs, wink wink.
Not a huge fan of the gold base and cap, that is why I recommended black but to each his or her own, it's all good :)
I am still tempted to get one before they are all out. I was about to order one and something told me to hold off. Maybe it cause I have 4 grandes in my small living room and I am really out of space, ugh. Claude can help with this if he ever pulls the trigger on my grande aquarium.
No DO NOT add water. I don't think water would mix well with the fluid. I could be wrong but I think my hunch is right on this.
I dunno man, the liquid is too thin to be any sort of glycol like propolyne glycol. It also foams up just like the grande lamps with soap in them do, so i suspect its just a water and surfactant amd , maybe something else but im probably wrong.
Been running 6-7 hours now and its just barely at the cap line, its too low. Needs to be filled up more its at 122f now so normal operating temp.
The blotch in my pic honestly you cant see it when you turn the lamp around and you have to look for it. Its not worth it to me to wait a week for them to replace it and have to mail my other one back.
But ill give them a call and see, i am not happy about the shattered bulb which will cost me 7$ to replace and the base is dented too in the back like i mentioned and the low liquid level. Maybe i could use all 4 things as a way for em to replace it. But my worry would be what if my replacement is worse ?
Ill call em Monday since they are closed on weekends and see what they say. The main thing that bugs me is the fluid level, the blotch and small ding on the base in the back dont even give me a thought but the fluid level is annoying.
You think you have no room LOL.. look at my desk. I have a damn sickness man.. My hobbies are expensive.. Lava lamps ive spent maybe 900$ on in the last 4 months or so. Then I have a classic car that takes away tons of money from me restoring it.. Then im in video games so my pc is custom built by me and i always upgrade it every few years which can cost 1000$ or more.. Then i have a aquarium hobby.. Right next to my lava lamps and desk is a 135g fish tank... with thousands of dollars of fish in it.. UHG. I also love astronomy and my telescope and eye peices are worth over 1000$ easy.. I have a spending problem lol
Is it normal for like 60-70% of the glitter ti float on the surface after like 3 hours.. Ive had the lamp on 24 hours now and ive had to grab the top and twirl it a little to get like 70% of the glitter back in the lamp.. And ive had to do this like 6 times now..
I love this glitter lamp more then all my lava lamps right now.. but damn this is annoying lol..
I just ordered another glitter grande, my mom wants mine really bad so i ordered one for her. I ordered the black base, she said either black or silver. Since I have 4 silver bases i got a black one.
Did ground shipping again, 2nd day shipping this time went from 35$ to 57$ for some reason.
I also ordered one of these lamps. its my friends birthday on tuesday and i know she wants a glitter lamp, this one would be kinda cool. Not sure if they are being made anymore either there is only 2 left

I said i did ground shipping lol, 2nd day shipping went up in price. When i ordered this first glitter 2 day was 35$ but i still opted for ground anyway, but i wanted to get this 2nd glitter here a little quicker so i checked 2 day and it went up from 35 to 57$ not sure why in one week it went up that much. So i just did ground again
Same weight-Same destination-Same Vendor??
It doesn't make sense
But who knows whats on UPS's mind lately
OH WAIT!
LL moved distribution from Illinois To California
That might explain it
My first glitter came from california, same destination of course lol. So no idea
See i was right the liquid in this lamp, is most likely just water and surfactant.. The lamp has been off all day and look where the glitter is.. All on the surface.. the stuff you see in the middle is just stuck to the glass from cooling down.
If this liquid was "special" it would be sinking to the bottom or sitting in place not floating to the top when its cooled down. It also builds up on the top when its running after 3 hours or so you have to twirl the globe a little to break it off the surface.
Im like 90% positive this liquid is just plain water. I just turned the lamp on and after 10 min all i can see is the heat swirling up and down in the lamp, but once i shook the lamp slightly to get the glitter off the surface then it started flowing like it should.
I wish i had a empty grande im curious about going to the hobby store and getting some of the hexagon shaped glitter there like this stuff and just using plain distilled water and soap and see if it flows or not like this lamp does. This liquid is just too thin to be any sort of heavy liquid and it foams up which means soap is in it. It may not be the liquid it might be the kind of glitter they use too
