Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I recently purchased an MSR Miniworks EX Filter Pump and it doesn't seem to be all it's cracked up to be. Water is much clearer but not crystal clear like I was expecting. I double pumped it all. I seem to get a lot of foam at the end as well. Am I doing something wrong?

Well I was hoping my lamp would look as good as yours to be honest. I'm very envious. I am obsessed with lamps right now and it's driving me insane. Well I've enclose pix of the grande before and after, and with the first grande I ordered that is clearing up. I did pump the pump until all the air started hissing. Ididn't however wait until the little bit drained out of the filter. I just added a little distilled water to the mix to supplement the little I lost. See next post

Whaddya think of the progress. You've seen the frozen globe when it first arrived at my door and now you see it after being filter pumped. Whaddya think? Also what's the best way to recap the globe? I currently just have the bung stuck in the top but have no idea what you were talking about with a "zip strip".
Blacks are harder to do than any other color. They keep clouding up again. But they will be clear after running and then pumping again. So basically take a new globe and run it once, cool, pump, run, cool, pump again. It should be clear after all that. Make sure that you scrub the filter on the pump before you change to another color lamp....I learned this the hard way.
I am very glad that I got my pump. I use it constantly. If you are going to do alot of small lamps also invest in a table top size capper. They are ultra handy!
Best of luck on your globe.
