Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Hello! I’m new to this site and to goo kits but not to lava lites in general. I am trying to refurbish one of my 17” antiques (70s) with a goo kit. It didn’t  have instructions so I used the one provided on this site. The problem I’m having is that the wax won’t flow at all. It melts completely but just lays there on the bottom. This is my second try and I’d hate to waste any more wax. I’m on the second cycle with this second attempt and still having no luck. Help! ☹️

Hi, sorry to hear you are having issues.

Here is the step by step goo kit instructions I use... This one is for a grande lamp but there is a lot of information on here about how much to use of the surfactant etc..

Did you replace the coil?

You might need higher watt bulb.

Hope this helps.

Thanks so much for responding! Yes, those are the instructions I followed. Also the coil is good. I tried to use a higher watt bulb but anything over a 40 watt is too tall and the globe can’t sit in the base. I guess I was just hoping I’d made a common mistake that was simple to fix. Oh well. ☹️ Thanks tho.
