Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

This globe is giving me issues - 1995 clear/black.  I’m using a frosted 40watt bulb, but it still does this.  I’ve tried running it off/on for 6-8 each day for a week, and it hasn’t helped.  Any advise would be appreciated.

Add a dimmer switch and start at about 3/4.  Looks like it's just too hot.

What Bridget said. Too hot. If you don't mind opening and resealing the cap, you could also put in a couple drops of distilled water. this will make it stay in the column phase longer as the wax doesn't spend as much time free floating in blobs (lowers the SG of the fluid).
